Rolo Tomassi Sign To Ipecac Recordings

Rolo Tomassi, the female-fronted British band NME dubbed “mathcore noise bastards (and bastress),” release their North American debut album, Grievances, on July 7 via Ipecac Recordings.

The band, which hails from Sheffield, formed in 2005, taking their name from the film L.A. Confidential. While Rolo Tomassi have yet to release an album Stateside, the band has toured the U.S. with Jane’s Addiction, joined Dillinger Escape Plan on their European outing and saw their 2010 album, Cosmology, produced by Diplo. Pitchfork said singer Eva Spence is, “equally comfortable singing in a glassy, ethereal coo and a glasses-shattering screech.”

A little delay...

It seems that crazy weather that hit the East coast the past few weeks, closed down the production plants for several days and delayed the Faith No More Superhero seven-inch just a bit. It will now be in stores on Monday March 23rd.

We truly appreciate your support and understanding!

Zu premieres title track from the March 24th release of “Cortar Todo” on The Quietus

Zu Band Promo

Zu are preparing to release their first new full-length in five years, titled Cortar Todo and due out via Ipecac Recordings on the rapidly approaching release date of March 23rd. The Quietus has revealed the title track, an intensely rhythmic beast that seeps industrial fluid and volatile flames of brass-bending static, and is symptomatic of the roaming, alien sounds of the album.

Don't forget, you can still listen to 'Rudra Dances Over Burning Rome' at the Ipecac Soundcloud page - https://soundcloud.com/ipecacrecordings/zu-rudra-dances-over-burning-rome/s-ut0Z5

Cortar Todo reveals new dynamics from the band, the album is more direct, sharp, focussed, and more intense and musical than anything we have heard from Zu so far. Check out the artwork and track listing below.

Zu - Cortar Todo

  1. The Unseen War
  2. Rudra Dances Over Burning Rome
  3. Cortar Todo
  4. A Sky Burial
  5. Orbital Equilibria
  6. Serpens Cauda
  7. No Pasa Nada
  8. Conflict Acceleration

In addition to the album release, we can expect a long period of touring starting in May 2015.

Faith No More Release "Sol Invictus" on May 19th

Faith No More Sol Invictus Promo

Sol Invictus, Faith No More’s highly anticipated follow-up to Album of the Year, arrives on May 19th via Reclamation Recordings/Ipecac Recordings.

“What I can say is that I think through our experience as musicians over the years, I think what we're doing reflects where we've gone since we made our last record as Faith No More. I think this kicks things up a notch,” explained Bill Gould in a recent Rolling Stone interview. “And I think there's parts that are very powerful and there's parts that have a lot of "space." Everything we do, with our chemistry, the way we play; it's always going to sound like us. It's just what we do, that makes us feel good.“

Sol Invictus was produced by Gould and recorded in the band’s Oakland, Calif. studio.

The Bay Area band recently announced their first North American tour since 2010, with all dates sold out upon on-sale. Faith No More traveled to Australia last week, then North America in April/May followed by a European tour in June.

Release Updates

We are ending 2014 with a flurry of activity. Even we are confused. Release dates and formats are shifting, so here is your update.

Melvins HOLD IT IN is out now on CD and digital, the vinyl is out on Dec 16th. You BETTER have this record by now.

Sleaford Mods CHUBBED UP+ is out now digitally. CD comes out Nov 24th, vinyl Dec 16th. See what all the buzz is about. This British duo is for real. Check them out.

Isis OCEANIC reissue is out now. Revisit this majestic piece of music with extras.

Guano Padano AMERICANA is out now!!!! The 2nd record we have released from this Italian band is their strongest yet as they visit the sounds of dust bowl era America with spaghetti western flavor. We can guarantee you will LOVE this cinematic journey.

Coming up on Nov 28th is the Neil Hamburger GREAT PHONE CALLS vinyl and the Faith No More MOTHERF*CKER 7inch (US only) (worldwide digital single out Dec 9th)

The Fantômas WUNDERKAMMER box set has been delayed until Dec 16th due to production issues. We do not have any preorder system set up for this yet. Trying to find a way to offer this cabinet in mail order.

The debut release from tētēma (Mike Patton & Anthony Pateras) titled GEOCIDAL goes global on Dec 9th.

Ok, that’s the latest and greatest. Thanks for your continued support. The music industry ain’t dead yet. Hope you are able to enjoy all of these!!!!!!

Sep. 16, 2014

It is going to be a very busy fall.

Hey friends!

There has been a bunch of stuff happening in the Ipecac world of late so we wanted to update you on some of the exciting things coming soon. It is going to be a very busy fall.

Hope you are enjoying the King Buzzo album and have had a chance to catch him live.

Another band that is touring and is a MUST see is Le Butcherettes. Tere is simply one of the best front persons of all time!!!!! Their album CRY IS FOR THE FLIES is released today!!!! Catch them on the road with Antemasque and on some of the upcoming Melvins dates.

Speaking of the Melvins, those bastards are back with another album! HOLD IT IN comes out Oct 14 and features Buzz and Dale collaborating with Jeff and Paul from the Butthole Surfers on the whole album. And oh my does it ever work! This is one that you gotta check out.

At the end of October we will be introducing a lot of you to the coolest thing to come out of the UK in a long time. We are releasing a compilation from Sleaford Mods titled CHUBBED UP +. Sleaford Mods are a stripped down, political, electronic punk-hop band from working class Nottingham. This stuff is real and it is spot on! Google them now.

So then we ease into November. We start off with a beautiful reissue of the Isis classic OCEANIC and the 2nd full length that we have released from Italy’s Guano Padano titled AMERICANA. Guano Padano take their spaghetti western/jazz/swing tunes to a new level. Featuring contributions from Joey from Calexico and author Dan Fante.

Then we come to Black Friday! Nov 28th. A National Record Store day in the US. To celebrate, this year we have 3 very special vinyl releases. First we reissue the classic GREAT PHONE CALLS release on vinyl. You asked for it, you got it! Long a cult classic. Just as offensive on the turntable.

Next up we have one of the most elaborate packages we have ever released. We give you a cabinet full of music from Fantômas titled WUNDERKAMMER. This limited edition, over the top package includes vinyl versions of all of the Fantômas records plus a cassette copy of the original Fantômas demo that Mike Patton used to recruit the other members. Neat, huh?

The last black Friday release is the new Faith No More single, “Motherfucker.” This is a limited edition of 5,000 7-inches. The bside is a remix by JG Thirlwell. The single will be available for download purchase a couple weeks later. We are very excited about our new partnership with Faith No More/Reclamation Recordings. The new FNM album will come out next year and expect to see them doing some touring in 2015 as well. This ain’t a reunion, this is the real deal!

Ok, enough with the updates, we gotta get back to work.

LOS ANGELES, July 29, 2014 -The Melvins return with Hold It In, their first studio album as a quartet since 2010's The Bride Screams Murder, on Oct. 14.

Joining Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover for the 12-song outing are Butthole Surfers' guitar player Paul Leary and bass player JD Pinkus. Hold It In was recorded in both Los Angeles and Austin earlier this year.

"Hold It In is a refreshing piece of fiction in a boring world of fact and bullsh*t," said Osborne. "Paul is one of the best guitar players I have ever heard and Pinkus has an outside the box type of approach to both guitar and bass that you just have to let it ride. I can't believe this actually happened. I'm thrilled."

"It's very rare you get a chance to work with three folks from the 'Break A Wish' foundation, all at the same time," said Pinkus. "I believe they'll remember their experience with me forever (or until they finally all lose their fight with S.I.D.S)."

The Melvins kick off a round of U.S. tour dates on Oct. 15 in Sacramento at Assembly, which also includes a performance at this year's Voodoo Experience in New Orleans. Osborne, Crover and Pinkus will be the touring roster for this run of dates.
